Christmas 2003Dear Friends and Family,Merry Christmas to all of you! Things are beginning to look a bit like Christmas around here. We just finished decorating yesterday. We went to a tree farm and found the perfect tree together as a family. Christopher fell asleep by the tree last evening and needed carried to bed. There is always something kind of magical about the first evening the tree is lit up. I think the kids enjoyed just “watching” it.
Amazingly, the tree looks rather nice. When the kids decorate, we usually have all the ornaments at the bottom and they are all in bunches and falling off. They must be getting taller because the ornaments are spread out and I must say they did a better job than I could have done. Lili, who has never seen a Christmas tree before, seems enchanted by the whole affair. She was utterly delighted to hear the Christmas music, “help decorate”, and inspect ornaments. We are all very happy to have her join us this Christmas!!
We feel very blessed to once again have a little girl in the house. She keeps all of us very busy. We spend quite a bit of time chasing her down. She truly is the perfect little girl for our family. She has adapted quite well and is already saying Mama, Dada, bye, and hi! Not bad for being here in the states for such a short time. She’ll also say “peek” when she plays peek-a-boo with you. We think she’ll really enjoy the holidays with all her cousins to play with and good food to eat.
The boys are all doing very well in school this year. They are all involved in Scouts and seem to enjoy all the activities. They are looking forward to tubing at Mad River Mountain as a winter get- together, pinewood derby, and various other fun activities. Nicholas still takes piano lessons and is busy working on Christmas songs. It really sounds nice to hear him play while I am working around the house. Perhaps he’ll play a song or two for us at Christmas. He is also, believe it or not, playing basketball! Yes, he is short, but quick. They are the West Liberty “Little Dribblers”. Anyway, he is having fun!
Scott and I are recovering from our trip to China. Actually, it was the trip of a lifetime. The Chinese people were so friendly and China is a beautiful place. We also got to bring back quite a souvenir! Life is very busy….but so good. I think we really appreciate what we have after seeing the poverty in China. We don’t always realize how blessed we are in this country and lose focus about what is truly important in life. We know we will enjoy every minute of time spent with our families and friends this holiday season. We’ll thank God for all the blessings he has sent our way and pray for a new year that is filled with His love and goodness.
Remember to hug your loved ones and tell them you love them. Every minute is so very precious. We wish you every happiness and joy this Christmas and hope to see all of you very soon. Please come see us and visit our newest family member. With Love,
The Davis Family
