October 30, 2004
The clocks go back tonight, so I thought I would use my extra hour productively. Today was our Church FestiFall fund raiser and I believe the Davis family received more than they gave.  I tried to spend money, I did my best, but when Nicholas won $50 at BINGO, the ledger tipped back in our favor!  We all had a good time and Lili danced the afternoon away listening to live music, and clapping her hands. She really loves music.  The wind was about 35 mph, and the tent was a flappin' so the band played  I'll fly away!  Michael and Nicholas worked the games and Christopher hung out at the concessions area. (Quality Control)   We all watched Ohio State beat Penn State, so I guess it was a great day!
I have a few pictures below.  -Scott

Trick or treat night was a huge event at our house.  We had a Lion (Lili), a Vampire (Michael) a clown (Nicholas), and a Special Forces guy (Christopher).  I went as a tourist (Two cameras around my neck) and Tracy was the proud mommy. Lili had her ROOOOAAARRR perfected by the end of the night, and Nicholas could easily juggle the one ball he had brought with him.  The boys determined that the Bush Cheney supporters gave out better candy, but it was within their margin of error.   -Scott

(Notice Lili's left hand about to yank on Mr. Whisker's tail! )

Have you ever seen a cuter Lion?

Tomorrow is trick-or-treat night in West Liberty.  I won't spoil the surprise, but Lili is practicing her ROOAAAR.  The boys are as excited about taking her out on the town, as they are getting goodies.  I truly feel blessed to have such loving and caring brothers for Lili. She would not go to bed tonight until Michael held her a few minutes.  Today in the office she was watching Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon  with keen interest.  The movie has lots of action, dancing and english subtitles, so all the spoken words are in Chinese.  She does not understand Chinese as far as we know, but it's sounds seem soothing and pleasing to her.  For all I know though, the movie star says "Little girls are bad" and the subtitle says "hello, how are you ?"   My 10 word Chinese Vocabulary is not nearly adequate for me to know the difference.  We do find listening to Chinese music to be equally enjoyable for the both of us. No pictures tonight,  but I am going to take the evening shift off tomorrow, and take the camera with me.  Who knows, you might find another movie on here when you check in tomorrow.  Oh, I almost forgot, both Tracy and Christopher had their pictures in the paper today. For the past several months, our home computer has not been working at 100% (Yes I own a computer store!)  Tonight I brought Tracy home a computer, so I should be able to update the web page more often. The boys have our old one, after I upgraded it and tuned it up a bit.  They want the internet, but I am not comfortable with that.  The bad news is that my SONY notebook's screen has failed once again.  (3 times in two years)   Now it is out of warranty, so I am not sure if I will fix it or not. . .   We are all working very hard to save money for our next trip to China.  I have a feeling we will all go over again a few more times.

Lili was just wonderful today.  Tracy worked today, and normally has the day at home, so I slept in a bit and enjoyed a rare Tuesday morning with her at home.  She is one happy little girl.  We also bought a "potty" seat that fits on the potty at the store, so I can reinforce what she learns with Tracy.  She is doing well with Potty training.  She Yells at me when she has to go.  If I don't listen, she gets even with me  ;-)  I am hoping to be home to carv the pumpkin tomorrow night..  -Scott

We picked out a pumpkin today and I think Lili was a bit overwhelmed by all the orange.  For our foreign readers, we have a holiday for the kids, candy and greeting card companies that happens each year on the last day of October.  We dress up our homes in orange and black and carve faces in pumpkins. (I get so many readers from all over the world that I felt an explanation was necessary, or they would think us nuts!)  Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from the trip to the farm today.  -Scott

We have all been busy with school, work and play.  The boys have been hitting the books after school and Lili has really been an entertaining little sister.  She has the word "NO" down pat!  She is now as tall as Gracie was at 18 months, so she seems to be growing very well.  She is almost 26 months now (born: Aug. 15, 2002)  I have been surprised how many people are seeing her website.  I think it is rather funny that if you google Lili Davis  she is right at the top.  This next week will go by fast because we are headed north to the cabin as a family.  Tracy has not been up since the Fourth of July, and frankly I am anxious to show it off to her.  The roof took up such a large part of my summer, that I am finding myself not ready for fall yet.  We actually had to turn the heat on in our home this week.  I left the heat on in the cabin before I left it last time I was up.  If the cabin is cold when we arrive, it takes 24 hours to warm up because of the tile floor. I will try to post some pictures the next time.  I always seem to enjoy getting pictures of the kids at the cabin.

In the past, I have asked for prayers.  I appreciate them, and they always seem to work.  My youngest brother is headed to Iraq in the next month, so please keep our brave service men and women in your prayers.   -Scott

Lili and her brothers went to the  adoption by Gentle Care  picnic yesterday.  That is the agency Michael and Nicholas joined our family through. Michael won a prize for being the oldest adoptee there!  They had their faces painted, got free ice cream, and blew bubbles so all had a good time.  I have attached some pictures below.  I find myself tired from all the roofing I have done this summer, but expect to finish it on this next trip.  We have seen the boys really take Lili under their wings this summer.  I know she is enjoying life in our family as she is always smiling.  She fusses very little, and when the occasional stumble or fall happens, she has been picked up and cuddled by a concerned big brother before the first tear can grow.  She really has it made.  Enjoy the pictures.  -Scott

Fun times at the Adoption by Gentle Care Picnic

September 11, 2004
Lili and her brothers went to a picnic over Labor Day at Grandma and Grandpa Davis' house.  Below are some of the pictures I took this past week.  Lili is starting to talk more, and even says "Cotts"  (Scott)   We are spending our M-W-F together in the office as Tracy works three days a week.  I absolutely enjoy having her with me.  She seems to enjoy sitting with me as we fix the customers' computers.  She even helps me with the typing.  I think I will wait a few years before I let her see the inside of a tower.  When I get back from the cabin (Yes, I am still roofing it)  I will try to write more.   -Scott
