Last weekend we had a nice visit with our mothers. I often wish there was a way to let Lili's birth mother know that she is doing fine. Yesterday Lili had a visitor to our store and she even took a picture with her. You might notice Lydia has the same hair stylist as Lili does ;-) They played together a bit and seem to recognize each other from Church. -Scott

Last evening, we took a trip down to the swimming pool of the hotel. Lili has no fear of water. I mean she will just walk off the deep end! She kept Tracy busy and splashed nearly everyone in the pool. I know the picture below is not very good, but it was dark and the little camera did it's best. -ScottApril 30,2005
Lili was happy to have a bowl of Vegetable and rice soup!
(She eats everything, but still loves her rice)
This weekend we traveled to Lancaster, Ohio for a funeral . We lost a grandfather to our niece and nephew. He was a wonderful man who left this earth way too young. Instead of rushing down here tomorrow, we decided to make a nice mini vacation of it. Lili is really good at traveling with us and the boys are very well behaved. Michael is excited because I got him on the internet with his notebook with a wireless high speed connection. I of course appreciate the opportunity to get online and do some work and update the website. The pictures below have nothing to do with this trip, but are of the kids so I uploaded them! -Scott$600 worth of beanie babies, and she plays in the box??
I filled it back up after Lili got comfortable
It is never too soon for our "Princess" to hone her equestrian skills April 29,2005
Lili went with me to get my hair cut yesterday and after Telisa was done making me more bald, Lili indicated it was "Lili's turn - Cut". So we had Telisa trim her bangs a bit. Telisa has cut my hair my entire adult life and is part of our Family. We tried to take a picture, and as usual Lili cooperated with a big smile. Of course, when I snapped the picture, she had a more somber look for the camera. It is hard to photograph a child that is sitting on your lap, so I used a "Bounce off the mirror" shot to get her special day recorded. -Scott

These are pictures from our trip to Canton, Ohio a couple of weekends ago. We visited with Nicholas's birth family. He enjoyed being spoiled by all! We are so lucky to be able to visit with both Nicholas's and Michael's birth families. One of the reasons we focus on exposing Lili to her heritage when possible is we will not have the opportunity to introduce her to her family "roots". This is made easier by groups of other families who have adopted from China, and our get togethers several times a year. Another family in our church has adopted a daughter very near Lili's age. It is so interesting to watch the two princesses give each other smiles across the pews. At less than three, I am not sure they can tell they are both special girls, but they seem to have a special bond that should be allowed to grow with each passing Sunday. Christopher is really good at going with us to all the special adopted kid events and seems to accept that I am his birth father. He realizes that looking at me, is like looking into his mirror 35 years into the future. He says that is very scary. -Scott
Lili seems to enjoy Michael's game boy Nicholas and Lili "play" a song for Nick's birth mother Nicholas and his birth mother Jen Nicholas and his great grand birth mothers April 22, 2005
Last weekend we visited Nicholas's (9) birth family in Canton, Ohio. I believe a good time was had by all. Lili and her brothers did their best to make sure Nicholas had a good time. He told me later he had a grrrrrrreat time! Lili may never get to know her birth family, but we will make sure she learns much about China and her culture. Many families go to Disney World, I would like to take the whole family to China in about 10 years. Here are our Easter pictures of our kids. Wal*Mart did a great job! -ScottWe finally got a chance to get all the kids to sit still for a family portrait.

Taken March 2005 by Wal*Mart of Bellefontaine, Ohio StudioApril 6, 2005 - Lili is back to normal!
Lili is nearly back to 100% today. She is sleeping more than normal, and is still on Antibiotics, but is bright eyed (both) and full of smiles. What a difference a week makes! I must tell you, the last 7 days have been pure heck worrying about my little girl. I am just so thankful she is with us, and not still in the orphanage because she gets the best of everything. They lover the babies as much as you can imagine, but resources are more limited than here. Lili's brothers have been real little troopers throughout the past week. They love her almost as much as she does them. At 43, I often worry about how she will do when she is my age now, and I am no longer able to help her. I then remember Tracy and I will have three big brothers to look after her. All is well at the Davis house again. The weather has been in the 70's and sunny the past two days, and this weekend is Christopher's First communion and Birthday celebration, so I am hoping the grass won't need mowed. Our next door neighbors have already mowed once (Show Off's!) I have the best lawn mower in the world, a John Deere tractor with an operator than actually likes to mow grass. I think Tracy enjoys the relative peace and quiet of the task ;-) -Scott

Today we went to Columbus to pickup Lili and bring her home. She is doing well, although the eye still has some swelling. We will keep her meds up to date and spoil her even more than normal. She was really glad to get home with her brothers and I. Tracy says she was a really good little trooper in the Hospital. She has been showing her brothers all the procedures she witnessed. I think I will get her a doctor's kit tomorrow. -Scott
